Question 1

What is BidSmith and what does it do for government contractors?

Accepted Answer

BidSmith is AI-assisted decision support for government contractors. Paste a SAM.gov notice URL or upload a PDF to get a structured compliance-oriented requirement view, FAR/DFARS-linked risk flags, and a bid/no-bid recommendation with rationale—often in about 90 seconds for many solicitations. It does not guarantee contract awards; your team still decides and refines.

Question 2

How does BidSmith generate a compliance matrix from an RFP?

Accepted Answer

BidSmith ingests the full solicitation text from SAM.gov, parses every clause and requirement, then maps each item to the relevant FAR/DFARS section. The output is a structured compliance matrix showing which requirements are met, which are missing, and which carry disqualification risk — formatted for immediate use by your capture and proposal team.

Question 3

Does BidSmith integrate with SAM.gov?

Accepted Answer

Yes. BidSmith connects to SAM.gov to pull solicitation documents, amendments, and attachments when you paste a notice ID or URL, then runs the audit workflow. Continuous personalized matching of live opportunities to your company profile is planned; today the product centers on fast per-solicitation audits.

Question 4

What FAR and DFARS clauses does BidSmith check?

Accepted Answer

BidSmith checks all standard FAR Part 52 clauses and DFARS 252 clauses present in a solicitation, including common disqualifiers like unique entity registration requirements, small business set-aside eligibility, cybersecurity certifications (CMMC), and past performance thresholds. The audit flags any clause where a contractor mismatch could result in disqualification before your team invests proposal resources.

Question 5

Is my solicitation data stored or shared?

Accepted Answer

Solicitation text is sent to a third-party model provider to be analysed, and we hold no zero-retention agreement with those providers, so their published policies govern it. We do not keep your uploaded file. Audits run without signing in are not retained; if you are signed in, the finished audit is saved to your history until you ask us to delete it. Question 6

How much does BidSmith cost?

Accepted Answer

BidSmith has one plan: Starter, $999/month after a 7-day free trial, for up to 10 full RFP audits a month with the compliance matrix, FAR/DFARS risk flags, and a bid/no-bid verdict. Your card is collected when the trial starts and billed when it ends; cancel before then and you are not charged. Without a plan you can still sign in and run an audit: you get the first 3 compliance requirements plus the bid/no-bid verdict free, a limited number of times per month. The proposal validator at bidsmith.pro/free-proposal-validator is free and needs no card.

Question 7

Can BidSmith help with bid/no-bid decisions?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every BidSmith audit concludes with a structured bid/no-bid recommendation based on your compliance posture, risk score, and the solicitation's evaluation criteria. The recommendation includes specific reasons for each factor so your capture lead can make an informed go/no-go decision in minutes rather than days.

Question 8

How fast does BidSmith produce an audit?

Accepted Answer

Most audits finish in minutes; large multi-attachment RFPs take longer because every attachment is read. The audit runs on the actual solicitation text, and BidSmith says so when a document could not be read rather than guessing.

Question 9

Does BidSmith replace a proposal writer or capture manager?

Accepted Answer

No — BidSmith augments your team, it does not replace it. BidSmith handles the mechanical compliance audit and risk analysis that consumes most of a capture manager's time. Your team retains full control over proposal strategy, win theme development, and final submission. Think of BidSmith as giving every proposal professional a 40-hour head start on every bid.
